UNPLUGGED
Mit 70 Jahren fliegt meine Lebensdrohne in einer Höhe, bei der man Weisheit und Lebenserfahrung vermuten könnte, aber wir wissen, dass Äusserlichkeiten eines Menschen nicht zwingend Rückschlüsse auf das Funktionieren seiner Birne erlaubt. Erst im menschlichen Nahkampf nämlich offenbart sich, ob wir für das Leben genug gestählt, ausreichend versiert, genetisch solide ausgestattet, über eine sichere Kompass Nadel verfügen, einen Schubs Chuzpe natürlich nicht zu vergessen. Ach ja, und Glück – zumindest ein Quäntchen. Denn das unserer – nicht immer unbeschwerten! – Jugendzeit folgende, lebenslange soziale Kampfgetümmel selektiert gnadenlos, hinterlässt wenige Sieger und so viele Verlierer – fängt bei den kleinen Hosenscheissern an und ist in der Senioren Ranch noch lange nicht zu ende, weil erst die Qualität von Erbauseinandersetzungen den finalen Beweis zu Tage fördert, mit welchem Typus Menschlikus wir umgeben sind. Ein schneller frecher Bogen, den ich hier spanne, ich werde das sofort relativieren und konkretisieren, weil ich zum Glück noch lebendig bin, vermutlich, weil Neid und Gier in meiner Birne keine Heimat haben und ich darum unbeschwert – manchmal sicher blauäugig! – fröhlich bin.

I prepared myself the whole year to cross the Atlantic and the only issue to fix 3 month ago was the windpilot. I sent a E-Mail to the manufacturer in Germany and unfortunately got no response. Next, I called the manufacturer up and mentioned my problem. Without major interest he stated, the Chinese deliverer of the piece did not assist him with spare parts and thiswise, he could not help e anymore. He meant, that in the future his part delivery would suffer as off the Chinese parts manufacturers.
In the meantime I will have a high precision manufacturer of parts in northern Spain making a replacement in metal, as the original piece is Plastic. Unfortunately, I will not getting for the cross over and therefore, will be using electronic autopilot and level out the sails as much as possible.
In change to other sailors I am not impressed by the German Manufacturer and for my other boat, which will cross next year over to Panama, we will go for anothe3r solution than WINDPILOT. My insatisfaction is not the construction, but the careless atention I got in regard to this problem. The manufacturer should be aware, that every unit is human lifes in stake – which he seems not to care at all…
A rather uncommon kind of comment as I neither store Hans Lehmann, nor Lehmann Ecuador in my data base, neither having suppliers in China … I am trying to answer mail almost immidiately … and I am the only person at the telephone in case you have dialled the correct number. assumingly this comment has been written by some particular reasons?
