K\u00fcrzlich erreicht mich ein Anruf aus Porto Santo: Werner M\u00fcller von der SV WIND OF CHANGE<\/a> ( OVNI 445 ) stellt mir die Frage, ob ich einem norwegischen Segler mit seiner BOREAL 44, der bei ihm l\u00e4ngsseits im Hafen liegt, Service Tipps und vor allem ein englisches Handbuch geben k\u00f6nne. Innerhalb weniger Minuten entspann sich folgender Mailwechsel mit Werner und Havard:<\/p>\n

Dear Havard,
\nit happens to me that I have had an extended communication about the BOREAL vessels with Jean-Francois Eeman of Boreal yesterday as we have fitted many BOREAL ( 44 and 47 )in the past successfully.<\/p>\n

My question to you: please provide me with some picts showing the entire vessel incl. its transom ornament … and some picts showing the entire line transfer ready to go to sea. anabling me to provide improvement comments im necessary.<\/p>\n

Please mind that the axis 340 will always have some clearance towards pendulum carriage, its one of the precondidtions to achieve perfect light air performnace even after years. You will need to know at this junction that any servo unit will have to provide active steering to one side of the heading only ( i.e. rudder to leeward! ) while any vessel will tend to the windward side on its own.<\/p>\n

\nI have used the Windpilot with very good result and performance for app 1 year ago, but after we encountered a force 9 gale a few months ago the Windpilot have not worked so well after that.. I have cleaned all moving parts with fresh water and sprayed with WD40. I will try to send the pictures but the WIFI is not the best her in PortoSanto☺
