Davits and a WINDPILOT can co-exist quite happily with a little understanding. The dinghy, of course, will usually be stowed on or below deck during long ocean passages. Only the bare davits then remain at the stern and these will not interfere with your windvane gear. When you reach harbour, all you have to do is release the two bolts that hold the WINDPILOT pendulum rudder assembly in place and the davits will be ready to use. Hoisted up on the davits is the safest place for your dinghy when near land: even the stealthiest of night time visitors will have trouble liberating it from here without you noticing. |
