GRINDE #365 AND HER SKIPPER JAQUELINE SOLO AROUND THE WORLD
Dear Peter, It is so nice to hear from you. And thank you for the congratulations. I would like to thank you for your support and for delivering such an important piece of ‘equipment ‘ for my solo circumnavigation.
What a lovely blog you write about the Peter Bruun boats.
Further more I have one question. Part no 158, the black round piece, on page 7. Is a bit out of line with the aluminum. Should I do something about it?
Cheers,

Good morning, Good evening to Cairns. Congratulation for safe arrival at the fifths continent and a second congrats for sailing one of my beloved designs from Peter Bruun DK. I have sailed the Spaekhuggeren, the Grinde and the Kaskelot.
I just came across to visit your last YT video and saw in minute 22 that the vane has been pointing rather vertical during strong winds … followed by rather sudden sideward movements. Please mind that duiring strong winds the vane would move much smoother if you adjust the vane angle further to the aft, followed by better damping in serious wave actions.
You will find some appropriate comments in the manual ( added herewith in Netherlands )
normal winds vane angled aft at 20 degree
light airs vane exactly vertically adjusted
serious wind vane angled about 30 – 45 egree to the aft
I will place a posting with link to your YT channel in my https://windpilot.com/blog/ soon.
take care and all the best from the Baltic.
Peter
