– using the CROSSBAR item for line transfer would improve / better line pull
IF ITS EASY TO FIT AND MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE THEN IM INTERESTED AND PERHAPS IT COULD BE SHIPPED TO A CORUNA? WILL BE THERE IN OCTOBER
– line transfer to tiller could be improved for better reaction / counteraction by using kind of clamcleat
INSTEAD OF THE CHAIN AND ITS FITTING? DO YOU HAVE A PICTURE?
BUT: last not least the unit has served well and took you back to your home port … but for the next challenge … we should play the piano of improvement please.

Lieber Peter, jetzt sind es schon ratzfaz fast 10 Jahre geworden, in denen unsere Koopmans/ Feltz eine Pacific an Ihrem Heck trägt. Mittlerweile ist die Getriebeschutzkappe etwas von der Sonne in Mitleidenschaft genommen worden. Ich würde gerne 2 Stück als Ersatz bestellen.
Vor kurzem bekam ich von Andy über Iridium einen Hilferuf: das Pendelruder der Pacific war abgebrochen, der ganze Atlantic lag noch vor der Nase, und zum Steuern hatte keiner grosse Lust. 
Es gibt viele Anleitungen, wie man die Komponenten dimensioniert, um dem eigenen Energieverbrauch gerecht zu werden. Wir haben einen iterativen Ansatz gewählt und mal gestartet so wie unser Boot ausgerüstet war. Der Vorgänger hatte das Boot mit standard Ausrüstungen von Alubat gekauft und für Tagesreisen gebraucht. Damit machten wir unsere ersten Erfahrungen ein Jahr vor unserer Abreise.
Hi Peter just finished 35000 miles. I am wondering what i should replace on my windpilot for maintenance ? Thanks and regards
Windpilot und Badeleiter, eine stete Herausforderung. Jelle van Harsselaar hat die Herausforderung angenommen und etwas draus gemacht.
Guten Tag Herr Foerthmann, Der Windpilot funktioniert bestens, auf allen Kursen, bei viel und wenig Wind. Ein geniales Teil! Ich bin derzeit auf raumem Kurs bei Windstärke 4.5. Der WP hält den Kurs mit +/- 5 Grad. Ein Traum!
He Mister Windpilot, Der Windpilot funktioniert wunderbar, hätte man schon vor Jahren machen sollen aber besser spät als nie. Die etwas unordentlich Schoten des Code Zero bitte ich bei der Aufnahme zu entschuldigen ( habe alles später ordentlich aufgeschossen).
Hi Peter, here are some details of how the Windpilot is fitted on our Ovni 435. We were really happy with how it turned out to work on the Ovni from the day we started using it and still is. Easy to fit, easy to use and has been completely reliable all these years since you sent it down to us when we stayed in Italy. Having said that, I knew what I was getting as we had the same but older model on our previous yacht as well, which was a long keeled Fantasi 37. Quite frankly, I have never used better. Our quiet helmsman and reliable work horse.

Hi Peter, I have the Windpilot and love it. Quite simply, it is the last bit of kit I would want to part with. Reliable, and have never had any problems setting it up. BUT, although I have a JSD and have never had to use it, I wonder how I could safely remove its rudder before deploying the drogue. If the weather had already deteriorated significantly, slowing down enough to get the rudder out of the water would be pretty difficult, with a possibility of damage to the gear. I guess the solution is to act really early? What are xour thoughts?
